The Mexcat scheme conforms to the regulations that follows the same basic principle used worldwide. Thus, an individual or a company can have a renewable or co generated electricity system that produces enough energy to be consumed directly by their electric devices. When there is more electricity generation than consumption, surplus electricity is injected into the electric network of the CFE.
When the individual or enterprise need to use electric energy but their renewable generation systems are not producing electricity, the local energy company’s electricity can be used instead. All the energy used, both injected and used from the local energy company, is assessed by a double-sense counter.
At the end of the month the difference between the consumed and the injected energy is established. And there might be three different cases:
